Latest News: With HMRC's "Making Tax Digital" proposals we are very much aware of the significant challenges that lie ahead for all who will be effected, whether that is someone with investment income, a self employed business or a small company. These changes are going to effect the way that everyone deals with HMRC with the proposed quarterly submissions of data, with a one month deadline, being the largest challenge facing everyone. The new rules are expected to be introduced from 2018 or 2019 (2020 for limited companies) but we are already working closely with software partners so that we can ensure that when 2018 arrives we are ready with a plan firmly in place that will help us and our clients satisfy the demands to be placed upon us all. In particular we fully understand that most clients do not wish to be bookkeepers and the idea that they will use IT to make their own submissions to HMRC with the accountant conducting a lengthy year-end review/correcting exercise is not something that fills them with confidence and excitement - probably the opposite.
