Description:
The Scottish Accountancy Trust for Education and Research (SATER), registered Scottish Charity SC034836, was established in 2003. Its objectives are to promote research into, and education of accountancy, finance and management together with all subjects in any way related. SATER provides grant funding for the high quality academic research within its specified areas, which is timely, relevant, and useful to the accountancy profession and in the public interest. It also provides assistance to academics wishing to present the findings from their research at relevant conferences. Grants for academic research are made through the research programme of ICAS, but applications can also be made directly to the Trust. SATER also hosts the ICAS Foundation which has been set up to assist primarily young people (aged 15 and above) in the United Kingdom who require financial and mentoring assistance to make progress on their journey to Chartered Accountancy and other finance and management-related careers.
