Born & raised in San Diego, California, I graduated from University of California, San Diego in 1987 and continued for my Master's in Taxation at San Diego State University and earned that degree in 1992. I became licensed to practice as a certified public accountant in the state of California in 1993. I've received training at both the international firm level and the local San Diego level. In May of 1997 I started a home office based consulting service and officially opened my full service practice in July of 2004. My practice is divided into three primary areas; taxation, accounting and consulting (including software support). Taxation includes tax planning, tax research and compliance for corporations, partnerships, LLCs, individuals, trusts and non-profit entities. Accounting performed by certified public accountants is done at three different levels; compilations, reviews and audits. I accept compilation and review engagements. Consulting involves training or non attestation services. Non attestation services do not involve the preparation of financial statements. At the initiation of each accounting, consulting or tax related engagement, I will create an engagement letter. The engagement letter is the product of our discussions and agreement and serves to highlight the tasks that I will be performing and the limits on the scope of the engagement. The purpose of the engagement letter is to solidify our communications. My technique is hands-on, problem solving and communication driven. I will work closely with you and/or your staff to achieve your goals and to create a system that will work for your office.
