Relax. We've got this! There’s more to the numbers than just what populates in our bank accounts and in reports. When I was a teenager, a CPA I worked for would pay me to review a key set of numbers within his client’s tax returns. If I found anything that was incorrect, I’d get a $20 bonus. To me, this was the most boring and tedious work on the planet but I loved making what little money I did. (He was pretty accurate.) What I didn’t know then was that this experience planted a seedling of love for numbers that would help shape my career. After graduating with a degree in Marketing from Seattle University, I held a couple of entry-level jobs in accounting, program management and IT. I finally found my calling when I discovered business analysis – the idea of blending people, process and technology for long-term profitability. Over the last 20 years, I created financial forecasts and strategies allowing executives to make the right decisions when it came to growth plans and risk management. What I learned studying marketing is that stories are much more powerful than facts and figures. What my career taught me was that facts and figures also tell a story - and when presented in a story-format, real change and growth can occur. I am passionate about helping companies craft a narrative around their numbers establishing the roots for growth. As a trusted advisor and finance business partner working directly with executives and senior leadership, I help shape the conversation on what is happening today and what it means for the future.
