Hello and welcome to Astute Books. Having spent 17 years running my own accountancy practice, along with a number of other successful businesses, I have realised that good bookkeepers are worth their weight in gold. When you find a good one you want to hold onto them and keep working with them, often over many years. Most small and medium sized businesses don’t have the time or inclination to deal with their own paperwork so they turn to independent bookkeepers for help and support. Many accountancy practices up and down the country outsource their bookkeeping function to third party bookkeepers. Finding a good bookkeeper can be hit or miss, often relying on word of mouth recommendations without really knowing the background of the person or the training they have received. This has inspired me to start Astute Books where we comprehensively train and support each of our bookkeepers and only allow them to become Astute Associates once we are fully confident in their abilities.
