The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) is a labor union for airline pilots that offers its members with financial analysis, in-depth knowledge of the Railway Labor Act, the legal experience to defend pilot contracts, and pension and insurance guarantees. The association represents more than 51,000 pilots at 30 U.S. and Canadian airlines. The association is chartered by the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labour Congress. It is a member of the International Federation of Air Line Pilot Associations. The association’s can discuss about matters concerning their salaries, benefits, security levels, and working conditions. At all levels of ALPA, pilots make decisions through the democratic process.
